Blog Social Networking

Social networking is a major part of today's society in recruiting for a job. Linkedin is a social networking site used by over 8 million professionals around the world. By using a simple search function, job candidates can look for people to connect with, apply for jobs, and share their work experiences with recruiters. Through Linkedin, people have access to a large number of contacts and can find jobs more conveniently.

Even though there are pros to social networking, there is also a "dark side" to technology. With increased technology, there have been less face-to-face human interaction between teens and children. Therefore, teens and children are lacking the development of empathy, emotional nuances, and social cues. Young digital natives have difficulty with human contact skills.

In my opinion, social networking has been very beneficial to graduating college students looking for a job. However, children need to develop human contact skills because that is also essential at a workplace and getting a job. Young digital natives may have great tech skills, but they also need to develop strong social skills.
